Dear Fellow Golfers & Cricketing Friends,

Re: The Folkestone Cricket Club Golf Day – Friday 2^nd October 2020 – Etchinghill G.C. 

I trust you are all keeping well in these very surreal times?

As you are aware, it is a difficult time to organise any events.  However, I am pleased to advise that the Annual Folkestone Cricket Club Golf Day will be going ahead, with the now usual social distancing requirements, subject to no further lockdowns or restrictions! Please see the flyer above.

The format will be a Stableford Golf Competition at Etchinghill Golf Club with a bacon roll and coffee on arrival, but there will not be the usual dinner after in the Club House.  However, I have arranged with the Three Hills Sports Park the use of the function room for the evening and arranged catering for a two-course meal.  This meal will be limited to the maximum of 30 people allowed under current government restrictions, so it will be on a first come first served basis and will be initially for participating golfers only.

I would therefore appreciate a show of interest & confirmation of participation accordingly.  I have booked for up to 45 golfers as per last year’s participants, so we can accommodate a large number.  It is only for the meal afterwards that we are currently limited to the 30 people.  Clearly, if the government restrictions change in the meantime and this number is increased, then I will advise accordingly.

I would be grateful if you could spread the word and confirm your participation, so that we can arrange an enjoyable day’s golfing to hopefully raise much needed funds for the Cricket Club in these extremely difficult times.  I am pleased to confirm our very good friends from the Hampshire Stragglers will hopefully be joining us once again this year.

I look forward to hearing from you, and your assistance would be greatly appreciated, as this year’s annual event is taking a lot more time to organise.
