An individual that has gone above and beyond to create a positive and inclusive environment for young people to enjoy the game
When we think of the qualities that define an outstanding Club Safeguarding Officer— proactive, diligent, organised, trustworthy, and inclusive—Jo Krayenbrink exemplifies them all and more.
As Safeguarding Officer at Folkestone Cricket Club, Jo has shown unwavering commitment to creating a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all. Her meticulous approach ensures the club remains fully compliant with the ECB’s Safe Hands Management System, enabling Folkestone CC to consistently meet the standards required for Clubmark accreditation.
Thanks to her efforts, safeguarding is not just a requirement—it is embedded in the club’s culture. Jo plays a vital role on the club committee, ensuring safeguarding remains a standing agenda item and a central consideration in all decision-making. Her work has laid the foundation for the club to field multiple junior and adult teams each week, confident in the knowledge that player welfare is prioritised at every level.
Like many exceptional volunteers, Jo goes far beyond the expectations of her role. Whether welcoming new players, supporting existing members, or ensuring best practice is followed, she brings care, consistency, and compassion to everything she does.
Folkestone CC is incredibly fortunate to have Jo as its Safeguarding Officer. Her dedication not only protects those who play the game but also strengthens the very fabric of the club.
