We have an active and growing girls section at Folkestone Cricket Club that are looking to constantly grow and develop. We offer a friendly, fun environment for all ages and abilities. Both Softball and Hardball options are available so whether you have never played before or you are quite experienced, we have a training and/or playing option for everyone.
We are actively recruiting girls for our growing club. We would love to welcome all girls aged from 6 years of age, who want to come and ‘try cricket out’ to come along to our friendly training sessions this season.
With the success of the recent ECB’s Hundred competition (especially in promoting the women’s’ game) there has been an increase in enquires to the club about girls cricket which the club is keen to support.
As well as training we are keen for the girls to play in competitive matches – we will start off with softball matches against other local teams before progressing to hardball matches when the girls are ready.
Winter indoor training is from Jan to March and Summer outdoor training is on of Friday evenings from May to August.
We will provide all the softball equipment – just turn up to play cricket and have fun!
Please fill in this contact form and we’ll get back to you asap!
We are extremely pleased with the progress of the “girls only” section at the club. We now have a group of around 12-16 girls aged 8-11 that regularly attend training on Monday evenings.
With our structured training sessions, the girls have made remarkable progress in a relatively short time and we were pleased to enter our very first “girls only” team in the Kent Cricket U11 Countdown Festival at Sandwich Town CC on 19th June.
The girls then played the clubs very first league match against Hythe Girls in the Saxon Shore League. This was part of a fundraising effort to raise funds for Cancer Research.
Thanks to everyone that attended our Winter Indoor training sessions. We look forward to seeing you all for our outdoor sessions starting on Monday 17th April from 18:00 to 19:00.
We have an exciting season ahead of us.
Well done to our U11 girls who were runners up in the Saxon Shore League. They received their medals and trophy in the awards ceremony at Deal Vics CC.
